Christian Clark has been an awesome and inspiring English and Drama teacher at The Bronx Academy of Letters since 2005 and chaperone for the past two years of The London Trip in which four students, winners of an essay contest, spend five days sightseeing and theatre going in London with me as their host. This year the ever intrepid Mr. Clarke made a pilgrimage with 2012 winners Ashley Cruz, Kimberly Mendez, Dalena Hoang, Deanna John, and another wonderful and talented Bronx Letters staff member Deirdre Dempsy to Manor House to see the new Banksy art piece which reflects upon, in Banksy’s inimitable manner, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. (If you are unfamiliar with Banksy I highly recommend his film Exit Through the Gift Shop, certainly one of the best films of the century.)
Christian Clarke has recently been named a Fellow to the Academy of Teachers, an organization honoring excellence in teaching.
I’m agoraphobic but I did go to the river where we are near Putney Bridge in the morning but there wasn’t much to see. My favorite boat was definitely the Maori canoe.
